THE BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION

An inherited heart condition is a type of heart condition which can run in families.  It can affect one or several members of the same family.

Call the British Heart Foundation's Genetic Information Service on 0300 456 8383 (local rate number) as soon as possible for more information on what to do next.  They will assist you by telling you where you can go for assessment at a specialist clinic near you.  They will send a letter to your GP to support your need to be referred to that clinic immediately.

The British Heart Foundation can give you information on the inherited cardiac condition affecting your family and can inform you of organisations that can put you in touch with other families that have been affected.

They are open from 9 am - 6 pm Monday to Friday.

Their website is www.bhf.org.uk
