Post Treasure Inquest

What happens after a Treasure inquest has concluded

At the conclusion of the inquest, the Coroner's Office will inform the national museum of the result. If there is any confusion over this, the national museum may need to liaise with the Coroner's Office for more information.

The Post-inquest portion of the Treasure process involves the valuation and reward payment. This part of the process is administered by the Treasure Section at the British Museum for all finds from England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

It is important to note that neither the FLO or the Coroner is not involved in this part of the process and that queries at this stage should be directed to the Treasure Section at the British Museum.
